K2, Mt Rainier and other ramblings

Hey all,

It’s almost been a month since I’ve posted to my blog. I’ve been trying to take a reprieve from all things 8000m. Since the 23rd of May I’ve been working on Mt. Rainier running Summit Climbs for Rainier Mountaineering, Inc. After returning to Pokhara, Nepal from Annapurna I was offered a spot on a K2 permit. Since then I’ve been hustling to meet the requirements to obtain this permit spot and also a visa for Pakistan. I need to fly the 23rd or 24th of June to make this happen but I’ve yet to obtain my K2 permit and I can’t apply for the visa until I have the permit… Things may come together and K2 could happen but at the moment things are looking unlikely. I’ve only the funds for one expedition, so either K2 or Nepal in Autumn. If I go to Nepal instead, I’m looking at possibly a new route? or second ascent? on Shisha Pangma. It’s hard to know whether it has been climb previously as the record keeping on Shisha Pangma is poor. Reflections continue on Annapurna, I’m more determined then ever to return and finish what I started there. Also, I’m still working on a short video chronicling my time there, hopefully it’ll be completed by the end of June.
